Hey sports fans!! Thanks for stopping by my blog! I am a self admitted “rink rat” so a lot of this blog will be about figure skating and hockey, however as an ex-figure skater, ex-varsity athlete and a sports fan in general, I usually have thoughts and opinions about alot of different sports I follow, so visit often!

Yuzuru Hanyu: Commercials: Nintendo Monster Hunter 4G

Nintendo Monster Hunter 4G – everyone knows that Yuzu is a huge fan of video games and is therefore a perfect fit for this product!!  He was like a kid in a candy store during the filming of this commercial.   Again, a special thanks to the producers who allow the “making of” footage to be published.  The link to the video has been added below.

The commercial is very casual with Yuzu playing the game and yelling orders at the two Airu characters (cats) who he affectionately named Salchow and Toe Loop!!  This is so adorable!  He must eat, sleep and think skating all the time!

I like that they left him in a white shirt and black pants…very casual and comfortable.  Hair and makeup were natural and he simply looked adorable.  He is so mature in his interviews, one tends to forget that he was only 19 when he made these commercials.  Even as he gets older, he seems to be just a kid at heart!!  Yuzu got to play this game before it was released to the public, how lucky is that!!  Ah, the perks of an Olympic gold medal!  : )

Yuzu-mania: The amount of exposure both Nintendo and Yuzu had with this commercial was simply incredible!!  The signage was everywhere!!!

It would be interesting to know how much the “Yuzu-effect” had on the sales of Monster Hunter 4G compared to previous versions of Monster Hunter but I haven’t found any release of this information from Nintendo.
